Tips for the resort:

 

 

 

• DO try to bring your own snorkelling gear. Snorkelling equipment is available on site, however a refundable deposit is required, and there is a time limit for use of equipment. 

• DO bring a small amount of cash. While tipping resort staff is not mandatory, it is very much appreciated. If you are planning on tipping the staff bring plenty of $1 bills.

• DO book your restaurant reservations upon check in. Reservations can fill up quickly!

• DO call your credit card and bank providers to let them know you are traveling or they might shut off your cards thinking it's fraudulent activity.  Also make sure to ask if they charge fees since you are using your card in another country.

• DO brush up on your spanish, as this resort is first a spanish speaking resort. Although most staff will speak at least some english, it never hurts to learn their native language!

• Room service and wifi/internet are available, but with an additional cost.

• Maya Express Train: Move around the full Barcelo complex by train with no additional cost. Service every 20 minutes, running from 0800 to 0230.
